ACME 6001 Review by J. Lentz "Kula Jon" (Kula, Hawaii)
Just got this machine today and just juiced some carrot apple juice. Very fast and powerful motor. Juice was very clean with almost no pulp due to using the paper filter (they enclose 20 in the box). If it lasts as long as everyone claims then it'll be a 4.999999 rating. The only reason I didn't go to 5 starts is the small feed chute (which others mentioned and I knew about) and the difficulty getting the pulp washed out of the basket because of it's enclosed shape. I really don't see an reasonable way that they can change either; without changing the whole machine. It seems solid. I bought it to replace my Jack LaLane machine who's motor burned out. I can honestly say that this machine seems to be built much better and the pulp was definitely drier. We'll see what the future brings!

I used Omega 1000 for about 12 years. Then I tried "Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite 1000-Watt Juice Extractor" after reading many many great reviews. It was a total disappointment. I really wonder if the people we left reviews really made any juice. I returned this. Then I tried "Omega 4000 Stainless-Steel 1/3-HP Continuous Pulp-Ejection Juicer" as I was familiar with Omega. But this is another big disappointment. I returned this too.
Finally I bought ACME juicer and surprisingly it works great. Greens like Kale & Chards are great to use with this juicer. It extracted more juice than the other three. There is a problem if you try to reuse the leftover to extract more juice. Couple of times it went out of balance and the top came off. I do not know how the top can come off. May be I used call Acme. But I am working around it as this juicer does give more juicer compared to the three I tried. Breville was worst. Omega 4000 is poor too. But Omega 1000 is simillar to ACME 6001. Anyway I will continue to use this juicer.
Carrots, Apples & celery are great to juice out of this juicer.
ACME 6001 Review by john M (modesto, ca USA)
I purchased my Acme 5001 in the mid 70's at a yard sale for $15. Two elderly ladies were selling their deceased brothers household goods and I
lucked out and got the 5001. It has been a workhorse, I have been using it 3 or 4 times a week since then. It does a terrific job on hard veggies
such as carrots, beets, celery, apples, pears, sweet potatoes, etc. It can't do small greens like parsley. It does large leaf veggies like swiss chard
well if you roll up the leafs or wrap them around a carrot before putting them down the chute. It has a stainless steel round inner basket that catches the pulp. Despite what some reviewers have said you do not need to use paper filters in the basket, it works just fine or better without them in my opinion. To clean, get a blue Scotch-Brite scrub sponge. You know the type with blue sponge on one side and blue scrubbie on the other.
Cut it in half so you have a piece thats about 3" X 3". This fits perfectly in the steel basket. First stick your hand in the basket and go completely
around the basket with your fingers catching the pulp in your hand. It will be very dry pulp, not sloppy at all. Throw it into a plastic bag or down the garbage disposal, whichever works. This takes 20 seconds. Then rinse the basket under running water in the sink while first wiping the outside of the basket with the sponge then wiping the inside with the sponge, wiping out the last of the pulp. Then rinse the other parts off under running water while using the sponge. Dry with a paper towel, reassemble and you are ready to go the next time you want juice. If you can't clean this unit in 3 or 4 minutes you just need a little more practice.
I read reviews of other juicers motors burning up after a year or so. Read the Acme 5001 reviews and you see that isn't the case here. It gives
great juice, leaves dry pulp. and, with a little practice, a cinch to clean. I will buy another if this one ever dies but so far it works as well as the day I bought it many years ago. Hope this helps........
